We asked Firetruck Save The Day a series of rapid fire questions about their inspirations and aspirations.
Q: Why Firetruck Save The Day?
A: The name is more so a particular play on words relating to bands within the same time frame. My Chemical Romance, Deathcab for Cutie, Panic at the Disco, etc.
Q: What was your biggest influence in becoming a musician?
A: At the time, it was to be able to play guitar like Jimi Hendrix but it has ultimately changed over the course of time.
Q: Of all the genres you have played, which is your favorite?
A: I would like to say jazz but it is more so just general rock and roll music.
Q: What life events have influenced your music the most?
A: Attending certain concerts, death, alcoholism, as well as heartbreak and friendship amongst many other musicians.
Q: Who has been your biggest supporter in your musical journey?
A: My father, who passed away in 2023. Otherwise it has been my closest musician peers.
Q: What is success in the music world to you?
A: Living comfortably enough to also constantly perform live shows as well as get paid fairly doing so.
Q: Who are your top musical influences?
A: Guthrie Govan, Animals as Leaders, Tame Impala, Tera Melos, Black Moth Super Rainbow, Stereolab, Tyler the Creator, Odd Future, Jeff Beck, Steely Dan, Queens of the Stone Age and the list seems to be continuing to grow at all times.
Q: What inspired you to make your latest album?
A: An ex of 6 years created the inspiration of more than 10 years of music.
Q: What is your pre-preformance ritual?
A: Continuously looking at the setlist that I will be performing and having a pep conversation with all of my gear and instruments I will be using.
Q: If you could play one song with one artist living or dead who would it be?
A: Either Jeff Beck or Guthrie Govan.
Q: Where do you hope to see yourself musically in 3-5 years?
A: I hope to see myself more known than I currently am for the types of music that I play as well as sharing a much larger stage with many of my favorite friends and musicians.
